Summer Reading Group – Jun 11 – Aug 13

This year, we will have a special Summer Reading Group for adults and students. For seven weeks this summer, we will meet to discuss the book Holiness by J. C. Ryle.  Our plan is to read one chapter of Holiness for each session.  We will meet in the FLC on Wednesday nights from 6:45 to 8:00 p.m. for a time of small group discussion and fellowship.

This group will meet for seven sessions on the following dates:

    • Session 1 — June 11
    • Session 2 — June 25
    • Session 3 — July 9
    • Session 4 — July 16
    • Session 5 — July 23
    • Session 6 — July 30
    • Session 7 — August 13.

The children of those who register for the Reading Group will enjoy a special program called “Summer Explorers”.

There will be no meals available for purchase at the church for these sessions.  You are welcome to bring your own food.

About the Book
Holiness by J.C. Ryle: C. Ryle was a pastor in England during the mid-1800s. Though he wrote extensively, his most influential work is Holiness. In this timeless classic, Ryle offers a powerful call to pursue a life marked by spiritual growth and practical godliness. His words continue to challenge and inspire believers today, reminding us of the enduring importance of living a life rooted in grace and holiness.

Modern Review of the Book
“Classics of the Christian faith are classics for a reason. Books standing the test of time should receive more than a “head-nod” from us. They don’t belong on lists or even on our shelves. They should be devoured by us. J.C. Ryle’s Holiness is such a book.” —Jason Helopoulos
