YOUR FIRST VISIT TO GOOD HOPE

We want to help make your first experience at Good Hope a great one! Below you’ll find a helpful overview of our church, our programs, and our activities to give you a better idea of who Good Hope is and what you can expect.

WHO WE ARE

Established in Carpenter NC in 1880, Good Hope Baptist Church strives to honor the Lord as we reflect and reach the community He has entrusted to us. Our area has grown tremendously in recent years, and we embrace the gift of new friends that God has brought us through that growth.

Good Hope is a welcoming, God-honoring, deeply prayerful, mission-driven, age-diverse, service-minded, outwardly-focused, increasingly international church. We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant word of God. Our small groups are taught on a foundation of discipleship. Our worship services focus on honoring Jesus Christ through prayer, song, and faithful expository preaching. The music offers fresh arrangements of traditional hymns as well as Biblically-sound contemporary songs. You will be welcomed by a diverse church family that is striving to be the body of Christ so that those who visit Good Hope and those in the community around our church campus would experience the love of Christ through us. Our heart is to impact our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

SERVICE TIMES

We offer Sunday morning small groups for all ages from 9 am – 10:15 am followed by our 10:30 am – 12 pm Worship Services. Song lyrics are projected onto the screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. We often incorporate testimonial and mission-related videos. Our pastors share encouraging and hope-filled, scripture-rich, Gospel-centered messages.

While your children are welcome to join you during our worship time, we also offer worship services just for kids filled with Bible teaching games, activities, and high-energy music. We also have a well-trained experienced nursery staff for infants and toddlers so you know your children are safe while you learn and worship with us.

Each Wednesday we have a church-wide meal beginning at 5:30 pm with discipleship activities from 6:45 pm – 8 pm for all ages. Your first meal on Wednesdays is free of charge so come hungry!

Coming Wednesdays Fall 2023, we will offer a parenting class, financial stewardship, How To Share Jesus Without Fear and other rotational discipleship classes, and a more traditional senior adult service in the Chapel.

Programs are held for our teens and children concurrent with the adult services/classes. Our young adults meet off-campus near the church in the home of its small group leaders. Children will participate in the AWANA curriculum during the fall, winter, and spring and a myriad of other activities throughout the summer months.

In addition, our Sports Ministry offers open gym pickleball (ages 12 and up) as well as children’s basketball starting in Fall 2023.

SMALL GROUPS

We have various small groups that meet on and off-campus throughout the week for expository Bible study and fellowship as well as topical curriculums at certain times of the year such as GriefShare and DivorceCare. Just check our Ministries page to find a group that’s right for you.

IN-PERSON OR ONLINE

While all of our programs and classes meet in person, we have a virtual attendance option for worship services and some of our Bible studies and small groups. If you see a program you’d like to attend and a virtual option isn’t offered, please contact us and we’ll get that class connected online as soon as we are able.

WHAT TO WEAR, WHAT TO BRING

Dress is casual for all ages though it is not uncommon for some individuals to wear their “Sunday Best”. Come as you are, we just want you with us! If you have your Bible or study materials, bring those as well. If you need a Bible or study materials, just ask someone on campus and we will provide them for you.

ACTIVITIES, EVENTS, SPORTS AND MORE

In addition to the worship and teaching opportunities above, we have many ways for your (you) and your family to get engaged with and serve with us throughout the year. We have musicals, meals together, Christmas and Easter activities, Vacation Bible School, open gyms, indoor and outdoor youth sports, and multiple fun and fellowship-style events for men, women, young adults, couples, families, teens, and others. We also have many opportunities for you to serve as a volunteer to provide teaching, support services, leadership, music, and more.

WE HAVE A PLACE FOR YOU HERE

You can watch our services online via Youtube, Facebook, or the church website. But honestly, the best way for you to learn about us is to come for an in-person visit. We hope you will choose to attend any of our activities so we can begin to build a relationship with you and share with you the love of Jesus. We look forward to meeting you and serving with you at Good Hope.
