Durham Rescue Mission

The Durham Rescue Mission stands as Durham, NC’s oldest and largest long-term homeless shelter, offering comprehensive support to broken men, women, and children in Durham, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh. Providing food, clothing, permanent supportive housing, vocational training, Biblical counseling, job placement, education, and more, the mission’s doors remain open 24/7, 365 days a year.

As a nonprofit organization, the Durham Rescue Mission relies entirely on the generosity and volunteer efforts of individuals, churches, businesses, civic groups, foundations, and other organizations to sustain its homeless programs and services. They steadfastly refuse local, state, or federal government funding, ensuring their autonomy in fulfilling their mission.

With a commitment rooted in the power of Jesus Christ, the Durham Rescue Mission aims to address the holistic needs of individuals, spiritually, educationally, emotionally, physically, socially, and vocationally. Through their doctrinal beliefs anchored in the Bible, they strive to guide those in need towards redemption and restoration, offering hope, dignity, and a pathway to becoming fully functioning members of society.
