Operation Christmas Child

What is Operation Christmas Child (OCC)?

OCC is part of Samaritan’s Purse, an international organization, whose mission is to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel.

At Good Hope Church, our faith extends beyond our walls and reaches out to those in need around the world!  As part of our mission focus, we are dedicated to serving others through our year-round effort of collecting supplies for Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes. These shoeboxes are packed with love and essential items, bringing joy to children in need across the globe. Every October/November, we host a packing party, where our congregation comes together to assemble these precious gifts, ensuring that each box is filled with both practical necessities, toys, and the message of the Gospel.

In November, as the shoeboxes are prepared for shipment, we gather for a special prayer time dedicated to the children who will receive these gifts in one of our Sunday AM services. We lift up in prayer the children who will receive the shoeboxes, asking for blessings, protection, and the transformative power of God’s love to touch each child’s heart.

Each year, Good Hope Church proudly prepares over 1000 shoeboxes, packed with care and compassion, to be sent out worldwide. Join us in this meaningful mission as we make a difference, one shoebox at a time.

In addition,  Good Hope serves as a receiving center for area churches and individuals.   It’s a community-wide endeavor, and we are grateful for the partnership of those who share our vision of spreading hope and love to children in need.
