New from Christy Semsen, “The Bethlehem Beat” is the fresh and innovative Christmas musical your kids will be singing for years to come! Arranged and orchestrated by Daniel Semsen and Nathaniel Semsen, this 40-minute kid’s musical is sure to be the highlight of your Christmas season.

Journey through ancient Bethlehem with The Daughters of Ezra, who manage the Inn which would soon have no room for Jesus. Join the townspeople in the “Census Slide” as they creatively navigate the challenges of a town overrun by people traveling for the census. Meet a young, spunky Mary and her lovable donkey, Yipyip, as they mambo through the town. Experience some unique, rapping shepherds in a way you never have, and reflect on how people so long ago might have had the same longings for hope and deliverance that we have today.

Participating in The Bethlehem Beat offers more than just a chance for children to perform; it’s an invaluable experience that enriches their lives and deepens their understanding of the Christmas story. Engaging in this musical allows children to actively participate in a cherished tradition, fostering a sense of community and belonging. It encourages them to explore their creativity, build confidence, and work collaboratively with their peers.

For families, this experience creates a shared moment of joy and reflection, bringing loved ones together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. It’s an opportunity to witness your child’s growth and enthusiasm as they embrace their role and contribute to a meaningful presentation. By participating, your child and family join in a celebration of faith that honors the birth of Jesus and inspires a deeper connection to the Christmas season.

God sent His Son into a world not so different from our own, and our hope is for you, your kids, and your church to experience the peace that comes from Emmanuel, born in a manger. Ultimately we discover with the Daughters of Ezra that Emmanuel means not only God with US, but God with ME!
